Adrien E. Desjardins

I am a Professor at the University College London in the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering. I received my BSc degree in physics and mathematics from the University of British Columbia (2001) and a PhD in Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering from Harvard Biophysics and the MIT-Harvard Health Sciences and Technology Program (2007).
My research interests are centred on the development of new imaging and sensing modalities to guide minimally invasive medical procedures. These developments are inherently interdisciplinary and involve close collaboration with our clinical colleagues and industry partners.
I am fortunate to have been awarded a Research Chair from the Royal Academy of Engineering Chair. I am grateful for a Healthcare Technologies Challenge Award from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), as well as starting grants from the European Research Council (ERC), the EPSRC, and the Royal Society. In 2015 I was honoured to be a Young Scientist at the World Economic Forum.
I am a co-Founder of the UCL Spin-Out Echopoint Medical, where I serve as a Director and Chief Technology Officer. Synergies between UCL and Echopoint Medical are strengthened by my Royal Academy of Engineering Chair.

A list of my publications can be found on my Google Scholar profile. Here is my LinkedIn profile.
