Adrien E. Desjardins
I am a Professor at the University College London in the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering. I received my BSc degree in physics and mathematics from the University of British Columbia (2001) and a PhD in Biophysics and Biomedical Engineering from Harvard Biophysics and the MIT-Harvard Health Sciences and Technology Program (2007).
My research interests are centred on the development of new imaging and sensing modalities to guide minimally invasive medical procedures. These developments are inherently interdisciplinary and involve close collaboration with our clinical colleagues and industry partners.
I am fortunate to have recently received a Healthcare Technologies Challenge Award from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), as well as starting grants from the European Research Council (ERC), the EPSRC, and the Royal Society. In 2015 I was honoured to be a Young Scientist at the World Economic Forum.
